A curated pop-up of affordable art and design supplies. We set up at universities and art colleges across the UK, and at a handful of larger summer fairs. Free for the institution to host. Real savings for students. Family-run by Artway since 1990.
We’ve supplied art and design materials to UK students, colleges and trade since 1990. The pop-up brings that range onto your campus on the days your students need it most. Sketchbooks, watercolour, acrylic, drawing tools, printmaking essentials and our own sustainable papers.
We don’t charge for the visit, the stand, the staff or the setup. You provide the space, we bring the shop.
Pop-up prices are at least 15% lower than artway.co.uk. No student ID needed. No minimum spend. Same materials, same quality.
Sketchbooks, paints, drawing tools, printmaking essentials. The same things you’d find on the website, chosen to suit a broad mix of disciplines.
Family-run since 1990. We supply schools and colleges, universities and trade buyers across the country.
Our recycled-paper sketchbooks and sustainably produced lines travel with us — useful for departments with sustainability commitments of their own.
A single visit, a summer fair appearance, or regular dates across the academic year. We’ll work to your calendar.
Most universities and colleges go from first email to first pop-up in a few weeks. We try to keep it light on your side.
Tell us about your institution, the window you’re thinking about, and roughly how many students might come through. The form is below.
We’ll suggest dates that fit your term rhythm — open days, creative weeks or deadline periods — and confirm the range we’ll bring.
Studio foyer, atrium, library entrance, students’ union, summer fair pitch. We need an inside space for six trestle tables plus stock boxes, and parking for one van to bring everything in.
Setup, staffing, card payments, takedown — all on us. You don’t need to lift a finger on the day.
A space indoors, near foot traffic. An agreed date, and a contact on the day. And one thing that really matters: the more your institution can promote the visit in advance, the better the day goes. Posters, mailers, social posts, a mention in tutor emails — it all helps.
A curated stall of sketchbooks, paints, drawing materials, brushes, printmaking essentials and a rotating range from our own lines. Card and contactless payment, friendly staff, and the same quality you’ll find on artway.co.uk.
Promotion is a key part of making the day a success. Before each visit we’ll put together a ready-to-use poster — designed to be printed and displayed around your space, or shared digitally across social channels, newsletters and emails.
A mention in tutor emails, a social post, a poster in the studio — it all makes a real difference. The more visibility the visit gets beforehand, the busier and more successful it tends to be.
A few moments from past visits to universities, art colleges and summer fairs around the UK. Every space is different, so the stall flexes to fit.
If you organise events, run a creative department, or look after student welfare and engagement, this is the form. We reply within two working days.
For universities, colleges and event organisers
We’ll only use these details to reply about a pop-up visit. No marketing list, no third parties.
We post each pop-up’s date and location on Instagram a couple of weeks ahead. Follow along to catch us when we’re near. And if you’d like us at your campus, tell your tutor or your students’ union.
Tour dates, location reveals and the occasional discount code for whoever spots us first.
Reduced prices apply to everyone on the day. No code to find, no proof to show — just cheaper supplies, right on your campus.
Same materials, plus our student discount, on artway.co.uk/students. 1–2 day UK delivery.
We reuse packaging, keep waste to a minimum, and look for ways to cut the footprint of every visit. Our recycled and reclaimed-material ranges travel with us. It’s the same approach that runs through the warehouse and the website, just on the move. Read more about Artway’s approach to sustainability →
Still have a question? Drop us a line — we’re happy to help.
No. We don’t charge to bring the Artway pop-up shop to your campus. You provide the space; we cover setup, staffing, stock and takedown. The one thing we’d ask is help promoting the visit internally so your students know we’re coming.
Typically one day, though we can do two or three if footfall and timing justify it. We’ll talk through what works best when we’re planning the visit.
We bring six trestle tables plus stock boxes, so roughly the area of a small classroom or a generous students’ union pitch. Indoors, ideally near foot traffic — studio block, atrium, library entrance, students’ union foyer.
For specific term-time dates like open days, creative weeks or summer fairs, the more notice the better — four to eight weeks is ideal. For one-off or flexible visits we can sometimes turn things around in a fortnight. Get in touch and we’ll let you know what’s feasible.
We’re based in Melksham, Wiltshire and visit campuses across England, Wales and Scotland. Longer distances need a bit more planning around dates. We’ll be honest about what’s feasible when you enquire.
A curated selection drawn from our 600+ product lines — sketchbooks, paints, brushes, pens, markers, printmaking supplies, charcoal, pastels and more. We can tailor the range to suit the disciplines taught at your institution, so do let us know what subjects you run.
Yes. Card and contactless, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash too if anyone still carries it. No minimum spend.
No. Pop-up prices are already reduced — at least 15% lower than artway.co.uk — and apply to everyone at the stall. No ID, no code, no fuss.
We don’t. We’ve found freshers’ fairs aren’t the right environment for a working art shop. Our visits are better suited to open days, creative weeks, project crunch periods and summer fairs, when students are actively shopping for the materials they need.
We carry public liability insurance, and can provide certificates and risk assessments for your facilities or events team in advance. Just let us know what your institution needs.
Yes. Some institutions book a single date first to see how it goes; others set up a regular slot each term or academic year. Both work well for us.
Things change — we understand that. Just let us know as far in advance as possible and we’ll find a new date. We don’t charge cancellation fees.
